Hullo, I'm Astrologer Patrick Arundell, and here is your Astrology Overview for WC 20th August 2018. The great thing we are all going to appreciate is Mercury moving forwards in the sign of Leo. In fact anything of a self expressive nature can really flourish. Mind, a big change does kick in from Thursday when the Sun moves into the practical sign of Virgo. This our opportunity to grapple with issues to do with work and life organisation, our responsibilities and obligations to others, what we eat, the exercise we get and how grounded our existences are. What makes this transition particularly exciting, is that the Sun goes into a Grand Earth trine with both the steady Saturn and the restless Uranus. This combination urges us to be enterprising, but also look for tangible results. The details of situations will be important, but so will a willingness to embrace new ideas and fresh strategies.

Venus also forges a sparkling angle to Mercury this week. This is one of those lovely planetary interactions which encourages us to enjoy being with others, and benefiting from the sweetness of the relationships which we find to be uplifting. Some flirty fun is possible too.

Ironically in the second half of this week Mercury goes into a square with Jupiter. Now, squares in astrology are usually more challenging, this one however can be uplifting in the sense that it can create a feeling that things are improving, but optimism and confidence can grow, but it's also important not to get ahead of ourselves, and so we mustn't promise more than we can realistically deliver.

From Thursday through to Sunday also sees Venus square Pluto. This is one of the most fascinating of all planetary aspects, because it's very much about the things we desire. Now there may be some things that Pluto is pushing us to change our achieve in a timely way, that the diplomacy of Venus in Libra can help us to interact with others in a way which can be helpful. The downside however is the we or someone we encounter could be tempted to over gild the lily in order to get something that we desire. This may be linked to a relationship, put bluntly sex, or perhaps even some kind of financial advantage. So if someone offers something that seems to be sparklingly wonderful, do think first, why? And also stay conscious of your own motivations.

Sunday is a very important day as it sees a Full Moon in the sign of Pisces, this is going to dissect the wonderful trine that has been going on for some while between Saturn and Uranus, suggesting that our sensitivity to our deepest needs and especially our more psychological and spiritual ones is very important when balanced against more practical drives and considerations. Because of Saturn being in its home zone of Capricorn. ambitions and particularly traditional material hopes do need to be balanced against what really feels right and what we feel comfortable with.

Sunday also sees Mars ends its retrograde which began on the 26th June, first in Aquarius and more recently in Capricorn. This is something that we can all be relieved about, and over the next two weeks there is an opportunity to use the power of Mars in Capricorn where it is exalted, to really drive forwards the goals and ambitions that are important to us.
