Hullo, I’m Astrologer Patrick Arundell, and here is your Astrology Overview for WC 3rd December 2018. Monday sees Venus return to the sign of Scorpio. If this rings a proverbial astrological bell it's because from the 9th of September to the end of October, Venus was working her way through Scorpio. She's essentially moving forwards and retracing her steps after the retrograde, and will come out of shadow, in other words return to the point where the retrograde began on the 17th December. Still, if you are a Scorpio, this is a joyous development, and in the run-up to Christmas and through to the end of the first week of January 2019, can be a great asset to you and see you draw admiring glances, perhaps more.

For all of us Venus moving into the sign of Scorpio gives us the opportunity to think more seriously and deeply about relationships of all kinds, but equally to marshal our resources as carefully as possible through the Christmas period. Now clearly this can be a costly time for for many of us, and Venus governs money just as much as it does romance, and Scorpio energy can actually be very good to think more deeply about how we can squeeze more from our cash flow, or to add to what we have. If you are Libra, or an Aries, finances could pick up. Yet paradoxically, Mercury, the planet of communication, does continue to track backwards in Scorpio until Wednesday. But I think this is when the logjam will be unblocked, and especially if you have have been waiting for any payments or money to emerge.

But this is also a week when the Sun in Sagittarius continues to be in conflict with Mars, but with the added complication that Mars now sits alongside Neptune, and will do so through 'till the 12th of December. Mars is very much about drive, action, initiation, instant gratification, desire, and of course is the more masculine part of the relating dynamic along with Venus. Alongside Neptune these desires can be blurred, by the swirling mist that this ethereal planet tends to create. It can also choke off the energy and vibrancy that Mars often brings the situations, so some of us may experience a lethargy, or find the preparations for Christmas somewhat draining and onerous. In its square with the Sun our sensitivities can most certainly be heightened. It can prove more challenging to get clarity on issues, and we might find ourselves wanting to avoid or escape some of life's realities. This is not a good time to be tempted to bend the truth around any issue of a contractual nature or in dealing with the judiciary, law enforcement or governmental agencies. We may also need to double-check that are thinking on any issue is realistic.

Still, there is a New Moon on Friday, and this can invigorate the basic energies of Sagittarius, and with Jupiter now back in its home zone, and Mercury heading forwards from Thursday, there's much to like especially around travel and expansion of our existences. But this is a New Moon continues the hard square with Mars and Neptune. So a determination to keep things factual, and steer clear of anyone who seems evasive, distant, unreliable or unethical is certainly a wise strategy.
