Hullo, I’m Astrologer Patrick Arundell, and here is your Astrology Overview for WC 21st January 2019. Last week was undoubtedly powerful, but also probably very challenging. This week will still have things that we need to contend with but there are so many more planetary opportunities.

The week begins with the SuperMoon and Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Leo. This clashes with Uranus at 28° in Aries. Although there is a 2° and 3° gap between the two positions and Uranus, the orb (or gap between them) is tight enough to have a real impact on us over the next six months. The inference is clear. We can follow a more hedonistic an individualistic agenda, or we can embrace the more collaborative energies of Aquarius.

With this set of energies tying in with the Solar Eclipse of 5th/6th January, and its conjunction with Saturn, it is likely that the concept of freedom at all costs will be challenged more increasingly by the need to protect collective interests. This could be played out around environmental and ecological issues, but also the power of big data, a kickback against greed, corporate malpractice, and citizens rallying against more totalitarian States. Of course just because there is an energy doesn't mean to say that there will be a successful outcome, as was shown by the Arab Spring uprisings of some years ago.

But against this highly intense background is also the potential for much improvement. Not least with Venus and Jupiter in fantastic angles to Mars, and Mercury's arrival in Aquarius on Thursday. Mercury and the Sun will finish this week closely allied, which also is a call to action the collective will, and looking out for the rights of the many over the few. And perhaps surprisingly for the Northern Hemisphere at least a desire to social, be playful and have fun, at an earlier point in the new year than usual.

There is a Quarter Moon on Sunday in Scorpio, which can present complications, especially in a group situation where there may be politics or underlying tensions. In a personal relationship any desire to socialise outside of a relation be resented by more possessive partner.
